Three years ago I had touched snow less than a handful of times in my life and couldn’t stand on a snowboard. I won’t mention the tears involved in ‘learning to walk (or ride)’ as an adult (literally 3 year olds were passing me on the piste… sometimes they still do :P), but still it’s a good feeling watching yourself do something you insisted you couldn’t. Even more shocking… how much I love it!
I know I haven’t seen nearly enough places to make all the claims I do about how where I live is one of the most beautiful places in the world, but Switzerland never ceases to take my breath away.
Cheers to a snowy February!

“Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” - Steve Jobs

I know it’s been more than 2 weeks since I’ve been back ‘home’ to Switzerland from my trip home to California - but I’ve been busy.
And yes, actually busy.. and not only lazy and depressed! <Warning: more posts to come!>
Actually, this was the first time in 4 years that I’ve been in SoCal in August. Even if season’s don’t exist in “The O.C.” it was such a different feeling with out all the stress of holidays, frantic gift getting/ wrapping, Xmas gatherings.
This was the sort of float-around-in-the-pool home-cation I’ve been needing :)
There were too many awesome things about my trip home to share in detail, but the highlights basically go as follows:
Dad’s Bday celebration at my sisters new abode on the beach — Hiking w/ Shack — Running w/ Shack — Swimming w/ Cooper (my rock-star nephew, an absolute champ swimmer at “almost free” years) — Catching up with old friends — Wii Dance or whatever fantastic dancing game it was, highly addicting — Dueling Piano Bar — Equinox Gym (some swanky gym where it’s a requirement to be good looking and fit before you enter, luckily I had a connection ;)) — Ladies brunch & champagne pub crawl — Mom’s bday celebration — Penthouse ‘party’ at Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (7ppl in a 3 floored hotel room big enough to host 150 ppl, hardly a party, but definitely a once in a lifetime thing) — Finished off by dinner with my mom and dad and 20 hrs on a plane to think about the whirlwind of 2wks that had just passed and how much I miss my family and friends…. geez I didn’t need to go back to Cali to know that!!
What I did need though, is to prepare for Fall/ Winter. So I topped up on Vitamin-D, CJL (‘Coop Juice Luvin’.. my nephew.. packaged in a juice box), and pictures of Shack to last me thru December, AND of course… the guitar!
Life is good. I might not be at home, but I’m home… at least for a bit ;)
xo,
